Ralink Rt3290 Driver Windows 10 64 Bit

I've tried restoring to factory settings and system image restore, resetting, troubleshooting, uninstalling & reinstalling the driver on my Windows 10 Pro PC (HP Pavilion 14-N213TX) and I've also consulted the manufacturer through their HP Support Assistant but they said I have to contact the service center. How can I fix my still LIMITED WiFi connectivity being experienced through my Ralink RT3290 Wireless Adapter? It was still working when I was on Windows 8.1 the time I received the PC 'til I became a Windows Insider, then I received Windows 10 Pro build 10240 through Windows Update. When I restore it to factory settings, the problem still persists so I revert back to Windows 10 Pro through the ISO and restoring my backup through System Image Recovery. Is there any other solution/s other than bringing my PC to a service center? Any answers or replies will be much appreciated.

Hi James, Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated. Limited Connectivity error means the computer has successfully connected to the router, but the PC wasn't assigned a valid IP address. I would suggest you the below methods, check if that helps: Method 1: Perform Network adapter troubleshooter.

• Open Control panel. • Type troubleshooting in the search tab and press Enter. • Click View all on left panel. • Click Network Adapter, new window will popup.

• Follow the on screen instructions. Reference: If the issue still persists, proceed to Method 2. Method 2: Change DNS settings.

• Open Control Panel. • Click Network and Internet.

• Open Network and Sharing Center. • Click Change Adapter Settings.

• Click the connection you want to configure. • Click change the settings of this connection. • Scroll down to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). • Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Hp Officejet Pro 8000 Windows 10 Driver. • Click Use the following DNS server address.

Wired and wireless network problems How do I fix network adapter problems? Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you. Thanks & Regards, AS. Hi, I am running Windows 10 on a HP Pavillion 11 x360PC with Ralink RT3290 adapter. My machine was failing/slow to connect on local wifi whereas my wife's HP Pavillion G6 was connecting without problems. Her machine uses a Realtek adapter.

I came across a solution at the following link:- Re: Ralink RT-3290 802.11 bgn wi-fi driver for Windows 10 See Phatom456 at 09:18 PM My post is at 05:39 PM. Note I downloaded the adapter before doing any un-installs. It has worked for at least two people:-):-). I have upgraded to windows 10, with a ralink 3290, and how the wifi can't see my router, though other devices can, though it can see my neighbours router. Nothing I've tried has worked.

Removing VPN (not the one that others seemed problematic). Reinstalling drivers. Rolling back drivers. Reboot numerous times. Running all windows updates.

Updaing driver. There is a later version of the driver from mediatek, but their certificate has been revoked so can't install that, even though some said it worked (probably at a date before the revoking). Hi, I am running Windows 10586.35 Ver 1511. The Windows PC is HP Pavillion 11-n083sa x360 PC (Celeron 2837) As stated I followed phantom456's post with the exceptions noted before. My RALINK 3290 driver is shown as 5.00.57.00.

Dated from MediaTek I get download speeds in excess of 100kbps on a regular basis. Occasionally I see over 500kbps. For those having grief in:- Control Panel >Device Manager >Network Adapters >RALINK3290 UNTICK Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power. Control Panel >Device Manager >Universal Serial Bus Controllers >Generic USB Hub UNTICK Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power. I found the above on another web site and now don't have the link to pass on the credit.

I can only say this has improved my connectivity in that I do NOT loose connection. The PC can now keep connected overnight. By the way RALINK 3290 and HP have been giving grief for most versions of Windows, at least since 7 and onwards. Perhap it is because of the 'power saving feature':-):-) Do HP and RALINK talk to each other? I didn't find 'Highest' helped, but 'High' seemed to a bit (no logic here). It was previously set to the default of 'medium'.

BTW, in my control panel (latest version of W10) the path is: Network and sharing Center/Change Adapter Settings/Right-Click on Wi-Fi Ralink RT3290/Properties/Configure/Advanced/Roaming Sensitivity I still don't understand why these adapter manufacturers don't just issue an update that works with Windows. Or why companies like HP do business with companies that don't do updates. Most customers are going to take out their frustration on HP otherwise.

Since HP Pavilion series have Ralink RTXXXX 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adaptor in it, Microsoft shall not be able to find the update driver of it. May be they don’t have the updated driver in their database. Also, wireless adapter of Ralink is there in many models of HP Pavilion series. Hence, if your laptop is one of the model of them, you can check if your laptop is having one of the following Ralink adapters or not? • 802.11n Wireless PCI Express Card LAN Adapter • Mediatek MT7630E 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter • Ralink RT3090 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter • Ralink RT3290 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter • Ralink RT3592 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi Adapter • Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter • Ralink RT5390R 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter Although there are many models i am not aware of would have wireless adapter from above list, but i am not aware of it. So, i am making a list of the models i know which has above said wireless adapters.

In case your model is not listed, you can check by yourself which wireless adapter you have in your laptop? Check Wireless Adapter – This is an example Download Ralink Wireless Adapter for HP Pavilion Series So, the driver you need for list of adapters i have mentioned above is: MediaTek (Ralink) Wireless LAN Adapter Driver Applicable for both Windows 10 32 bit and Windows 10 64 bit. Above said driver is the latest updated driver for Windows 10. And this driver contains the driver installation package for the Mediatek (Ralink) wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. It provides the WHQL driver initial release to support Windows 10.

Hi, I had a problem with my hp Pavillion model 15-g040ca losing wifi and it wasn’t the driver at all. It was a hardware problem where the wire from the wifi adaptor got cut where it passes up from the base into the screen. I fixed it by bringing the wire outside of the laptop and connecting it to a small antenna. I suspect most of the hp laptops suffer from the same problem when I read other posts on different sites. Anyway I thought I would share this with your readers since I was furious looking for answers also.

I had the problem that the wifi would lose its gateway after a few minutes. After HP help desk instructed me to reload drives and all the other common suggested fixes it was just as bad. I connected the laptop to the router by wire and it worked fine confirming it was wifi problem I then moved the laptop closer to the router and it was fine. I tried other rooms in house it was OK but in the kitchen where we originally had the problem it still kept losing the gateway.

Then I notice I could see my more routers from neighbours in the kitchen than elsewhere. The short answer was the fault was rf interference from a neighbours router. A ping test confirmed I was losing 20% of packets of data. I changed channel on my router and all is now OK.

HP has knowingly put faulty Realtek RTL8188EE WiFi adapters into their products since June 2014. This is a known issue that HP refuses to address. I spent 2 months trying to figure out the problem. I spent 5 hours on the phone with Microsoft and they couldn’t fix the issueeven after remotely taking over my computer. I spent $50 on a NetGear external WiFi adapterand it worked great.

However, since my computer is less than a year old, I shouldn’t have to have an external. The problem is the internal WiFi adapter itself.

It is a faulty component that people have been complaining about since 2014. I called HP’s corporate office and stated that I was aware that they knew of the issue, and could provide more than 10 pages from just one thread of their HP Forum where hundreds of others, were having the same issue.

I threatened them with a class action lawsuit if they didn’t do something about it immediately. They have agreed (in writing) that they will fix my laptop and replace the WiFi adapter card FREE OF CHARGE. I suggest that every one else, who is experiencing this issue, call the HP Corporate office at: 650-857-1501. Press “0” and speak to an operator. Tell them you want to speak to a US Case Manager about this ongoing issue. IF the case manager refuses to assist you, then call the Corporate office number back, press “0” and ask to speak to an “Executive Customer Relations” associate. They WILL (AND MUST) FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE AT NO COST TO YOU!

Apparently, this is such a “hot topic” that, with what I know about this issue, I am being “silenced” on the HP forum. They don’t want people to know that they can fix it by replacing the adapter with one that is NOT a Realtek component. They don’t want you to know that you have RIGHTS as a consumer!
