When upgrading to Windows 10, I shut off my WiFi (HP Laptop) The wifi switch is located on the keyboard itself. Lexmark Z517 Driver Windows 10. I plugged in the Ethernet cable so as no interruptions would occur during the upgrade. Once Installed Windows 10 Worked wonderfully. Only when unplugged from Ethernet, theres no Wifi connection.

The driver, and device is working properly, only the once White WiFi Power light, is now permanantley stuck in Orange mode (standby) When pressed the key only toggles the Airplane mode 'On' or 'Off'. What should I do? I am Strapped to my wall by this Ball and Chain. Working with a laptop was supposed to be Wireless and mobile. If you can help shed some light on a resolution, I would greatly accept your support. PS--- Device Drivers details that the WiFi Chip, and Driver are installed and functioning Properly. Hp G6 Wifi Driver

I'm experiencing the same problem after upgrading from Windows 7. I've been through the HP website and tried all the drivers listed for my model, g6-1d60us. They only have drivers listed for Windows 7 and 8. None of the drivers for 8 work. I've uninstalled drivers and reinstalled. I've also explored the HP help program on my computer with no solution. Frustrating because everything else seems to work okay with windows 10.

I may have to roll back to Windows 7 soon because I need wifi access for work. Same issue for me om my Pavillion dv7-6b21em. The Wifi key F12 is permanently stuck in off mode/orange light.

The only thing that is affected when I press is the Airplane mode. But its impossible for me to turn on wifi, even if I go into Setting ->Network & Internet ->WiFi ->the WiFi option cannot be switched on when I click on it with the mouse, it jumps immediately back into off mode. Wifi Off (don't mind the language) Forcing the Wifi switch with the mouse into ON Oh an yeah, HP is as useless as always.

But seeing how MS did all those test to see if your device will handle Win10 upgrade and then getting this kind of problems is also MS fault. I'm stuck on an ethernet cable with a laptop, what's the point then having a laptop. How the notification bar looks trying to turn wifi on with or without airplane mode. I'm having the same issue. Upgraded from Win7 to Win10 Home. Pavilion g6-1d18dx Tried a reset of Win10.

Failed when almost done. Now no OS --tools won't fix the boot.

Installed clean from a USB stick. So this is not an upgrade bug, but something that also affects a clean install. I'm also seeing an occasional hang, that is causing the system to shutdown and reboot. (doesn't occur with Win7). I do have a Microsoft support case open, that has been elevated to 2nd tier. I'm waiting for them to call me back now (they are slammed, and have missed scheduled callbacks, but I'm still working with them).

Case # for people to reference. HP forums and tools have not been helpful at all.
