Samsung Syncmaster Windows 10 Driver

Welcome to the Samsung forum on CNET! Samsung worked with CNET to create a forum where people can ask questions and talk about all Samsung products and get help with everything from HDTVs, Smart TVs, home theater components, phones, cmaeras to monitors and printers. This forum is staffed by Samsung employees, but as we have seen in the past, often the most helpful answers come from CNET forum members themselves so please don't consider this just a Q and A with Samsung. This is a CNET forum and Samsung is here to be part of the conversation. I decided to post a new topic after having sifted through many posts without finding my exact problem.

Samsung Syncmaster Windows 10 Driver

First of all system info: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50 GHz Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, 64-bit Nvidia GeForce GT 220 So, I purchased a Samsung Syncmaster P2570HD after many months of shopping for a monitor for my computer. I finally decided to go with the Samsung because it had a TV tuner and because I was currently using a CRT Samsung monitor that has lasted me 6 years now so I was confident in the brand. After I connected the monitor to my video card, installed the drivers that came with it and set the display to the native resolution of 1920 x 1280, I noticed the picture was pretty terrible and was particularly horrible while browsing online. Everything was discolored, text was not crisp, and there was white halo's around all text making some sites unreadable. Thinking that perhaps I made a terrible mistake, I tried adjusting the resolution. Once I tried 1680 x 1050, snap! Everything came into focus, text was crisp and readable, and colors returned to normal.

Now I suppose I could stay at this resolution forever, no harm, no foul. The problem is when I go to play certain PC games. The monitor transitions to an 'idle' screen and says 'Mode not supported.' After contacting Samsung about the problem, I was told the game wouldn't work because I was not using the native resolution. So I switched back to 1920 x 1280 and once again, all the colors changed and text went out of focus even after I set the display to fit the screen. I adjusted every setting there was to adjust to no avail. So, any ideas how to get the native resolution to display without all the negative side effects?

Hello, thanks for responding. I am connected to the PC using an HDMI cable. Unfortunately, I don't have another PC in the house to test it on. I could possibly take it to work, but it would be a hassle. Still using 1680 x 1050 resolution for now. I tried navigating the Samsung website to see about downloading the most current driver for the monitor as I know the ones on the disk can be out of date, but I cannot find my model in the drop-down list and there is no option to search.

Perhaps you could give me a direct link to the most recent driver? Hi there, I was just about to submit a query when I came across your post which exactly describes the problem I am having with a different Samsung monitor. Intel i7 930 running at stock speed 6 Gb Corsair DDR3 1600 RAM Saphire Radeon 5570 (1Gb) Video Card Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I have just built my new PC and have connected my monitor using HDMI.

The problem is exactly the same. Asus Rog Drivers Windows 10. Dreadful resolution on teh native resolution of 1920 x 1080 - discolouration of text, blurred text and as you describe, generally horrible. Like you, I changed the resolution to 1680 x 1050 and teh display improved dramatically. This is the first time I have purchased a 24' Samsung monitor for myself, although I have purchased ans set up 22' Samsung monitors for members of my family in the recent past which had fantastic displays at their native resolution. I use a 24'monitor at 1920 x 1080 at work, and so want to replicate this at home. Is this a generic problem with the new large Samsung monitors (i.e.

Building down to a price) - I hope not. Could it be a compatibility problem with 64 bit operating systems? Hi there and thanks for the reply.

However, I have resolved my problem and I am now delighted with the monitor in its native resolution. This may be of use to the original poster.

I found this on another forum. The problem is caused by teh use of HDMI to connect the monitor. When HDMI is used, the monitor appears to think that it is being used as a TV. Using the menu, navigate to the set-up and reset option, scroll down to the 'PC/AV Mode' setting which you will probably find is set to 'AV'. Change this to 'PC' and teh native resolution will work perfectly. This still left a problem with my monitor because although teh resolution was greatly improved, I was left with a with a picture that only took up about 22' of my 24' monitor.

I couldn't resolve this by any of teh menu settings. However, when I changed from an HDMI cable to a DVI cable, the screen size was resolved instantly. I now have a monitor with which I am delighted at its native resolution. My only minor issue now is the Magic Tune software won't run - it just hangs. I have downloaded the version that is apparently designed for use with Windows 7 64 Bit, but it just hangs. Hope this helps.

I don't know what else to say other than what's in the title, really. I had everything working perfectly since Wednesday afternoon, then this evening I rebooted and 'poof' - there went my lovely 1920x1200 resolution, chucked down to 1024x768 with my PC no longer recognising the SyncMaster T260 and instead giving me the 'generic monitor' cow poop. Try as I might, I can't get Samsung's drivers (which are from 2008 (!) and say they're compatible up to Vista!) to work at all, they just keep telling me there's been an error and it hasn't worked. I'm desperately unhappy that everything on my screen looks ugly as sin and I can't change the resolution.

Can anyone help? Hi Norman, Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated. I suggest you to update the Graphics card drivers and check if it helps: • Click on 'Start' and type 'Device Manager' in the start search box and press enter. • Click on the “Display adapters” to expand the list. • Right-click on drivers and update it. • If there are no update available, then go ahead and reinstall the driver by clicking on 'Uninstall'.

• Restart the PC If still the issue persists then I suggest you to go to manufacturer’s website and update the display drivers in compatibility mode and check if the issue persists.
